HELP FOR HOMEOWNERS
The following resources may be able to help if you're having problems making your mortgage payments:
The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) offers refinancing options that can help people who owe more on their mortgage than their home is worth. Lenders in the FHASecure program voluntarily agree to forgive any mortgage debt that exceeds 90 percent of the current appraisal value on the home, so the homeowner can refinance into a FHA-guaranteed loan. (See https://www.hud.gov/federal_housing_administration for details).
A housing-counseling agency approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (www.hud.gov) can help you work with your lender and find out about your options.
