The DPW will begin collection in Zone # 2 on Monday, NOVEMBER 9th and continue until the last street in Zone #1 has been completed. After the truck has gone by your house, DO NOT rake leaves to the curb. Remaining leaves MUST be bagged for regular pickup by Republic Services. Bagged leaf pickup ends the last Monday of November – November 30, 2020
If you use curbside pickup, please pay close attention to the zone map and the schedule of pickups for each zone. The City is divided into two zones in the zone map. Leaves must be raked to the curb of the street by 7:00 A.M. on Monday morning of the week your zone is to be collected.
**NEW THIS YEAR** The new machine reaches several feet behind the curb, so please DO NOT RAKE LEAVES INTO THE STREET. If brush or grass clippings are in the pile, they will not be collected. Please rake only leaves to the curb, but NOT IN THE STREET.This process is highly variable and it is impossible to gauge exactly when any particular street will be done. Please be aware that should a critical situation arise, leaf collection will be interrupted until the situation is resolved. Inclement weather affects the leaf pick up by the City. If it rains or snows for several days, leaves will be wet and the City machine will not operate. In that case, it may be necessary to bag the leaves for pick up by Republic Services on your regular trash day.
