Small businesses are the key to Grand Blanc’s economy, fostering job creation, innovation and economic diversification. Small businesses and industries of all sizes can find prime property to settle in, relocate to or grow into here in Grand Blanc. Providing frontage, maximum visibility and ready access to quality infrastructure, City properties are ready to be re-purposed for private development. Conveniently located near major Interstates and 7 miles from Bishop International Airport, Grand Blanc industries and commuters enjoy convenient transportation and updated infrastructure. From office suites and downtown shops, to the four acres of prime commercial real estate in the Central Business District, Grand Blanc is ready to accommodate entrepreneurs and industries of all sizes. To assist new and current business owners, Grand Blanc has instituted an innovative Business Assistance Team consisting of City stakeholders providing City service information and business technical assistance. Through community partnerships, Grand Blanc coordinates resources assisting business owners in preparing for meetings with lenders, discussing variety of financing options and connecting the business owners with appropriate funding sources. Grand Blanc also has experience with significant, successful Downtown Development and Brownfield Redevelopment Authority projects including an injection of over $2,500,000 in investment for two buildings, one 8,800 square feet and the other 3,200 square feet, providing over 170 job opportunities.  In addition to these services, Grand Blanc provides a number of incentives to encourage business growth, including a rapid site plan review process and close connections with local technical agencies to assist with marketing plans and property searches.

Tax Abatement Opportunity
The City works with many developers on a variety of projects. Any developer can request a tax abatement for a new project at any City Council meeting. The start of the request process would be to meet with the City Manager. A developer can contact the City Manager via email - citymanager@cityofgrandblanc.com or by phone 810-694-1118 to request a meeting to discuss a project idea and next steps.
