NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

ROAD CLOSING INFO

Grand Blanc Rd & Reid Rd R/R Crossings

Due to repairs needed on the railroad crossings at both Grand Blanc and Reid Roads, temporary road closures are being planned from May 7 through May 25. The repairs are being made as a joint effort between the City of Grand Blanc and CSX Railroad.

For both projects, signage will be in place for traffic information. Motorists are urged to use caution when approaching these areas, as detours will be necessary to re-route traffic. One crossing at a time will be closed while the work is being done.

Traffic delays can be expected. Schedules could vary according to weather and equipment-related issues.

SAGINAW STREET

The City of Grand Blanc began rehabilitating and resurfacing one mile of Saginaw Street, from Grand Blanc Road south to the City limits, on May 1. Completion is estimated for early July. Construction of this project will be completed at night between the hours of 7 PM and 6:30 AM. Multiple lane closures will take place during construction hours. During daytime hours, it is the intent that all lanes will be opened for traffic, however, certain operations may require additional lane closures or reduced lane widths during those hours.

The existing roadway will be milled and resurfaced. Select sections of curb and gutter and sidewalk will be removed and replaced. The sidewalk ramps at the street intersections will also be upgrades as part of this project to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Access to residences and businesses will be maintained at all times by part width construction or alternate access points. We know this may be an inconvenience and we do appreciate your cooperation and patience during this process.

Sidewalk accessibility may be limited during construction while the isolated sidewalk repairs and upgrades are completed. Pedestrians should seek an alternate route during construction. Those who choose to use the sidewalk should be aware that it is a construction zone; be careful and exercise caution.
